Overview and Location
The Middle Fork Salmon River stretches 100 miles through the heart of Idaho, descending over 3,000 feet from its origin near Stanley to where it joins the Main Salmon River. This majestic waterway winds through the remote Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness, where you'll find no roads, no mobile signals, and no easy way out—truly an authentic wilderness exploration. The only entry points are Boundary Creek (primary launch site), Indian Creek (low-water launch), and Cache Bar (take-out).
